The Old Folks Home

Yeah....

And spouse and I subscribe to the philosophy that constant pain means you are alive, awesome! Learn to deal with it and move on.

Spouse and I deal with constant pain :idunno so it is kind of whatever. Spouse gave all of the kids flat feet, and that gives a nice level of constant discomfort. (And yes, we have tried physical therapists, inserts, the doctor...whatever)

Yeah, sometimes you do just have to just suck it up. But still, I'm sorry you have to deal with that. Aren't there some painkillers you could take for it?

I am against constant intake of painkiller... If you gotta, then you gotta... But those drugs do a number on the kidneys or liver... Best to pass if possible.

I use alieve.... Wonderful stuff. Helps with inflamation which is damage causing in of itself. But I only take it if I know I am going to work beyond the call of duty.... Then I take it till I recover and go off it.

I had been up to three GRAMS of Ibuprophin a day.... Two alieve and I am good.

I am not much of a "nurturer"

You crack me up! All kidding aside, Alaska seems like a pretty hardcore place to live. Probably in a kids best interest to grow up tough when you live in the wild.

I like crickets

What I don't like is when my ears play random sporadic sounds... I hate holding my breath trying to listen for whatever it was I just heard...and then I realize the sound was made up ear noise.

And yeah as to Alaska being rough and tumble.

My older kids went camping in grizzly territory this summer.

Black bears are just fine, grizzlies give me the willies. I went out of my way to own a house OUTside of grizzly habitat.

The kids needed to stay in groups of four at ALL times, and carry air horns.
