The Old Folks Home

I also just went out to hunt more hornworms and squash bugs and I discovered that for the first time in NINE YEARS I have succeeded in growing a watermelon in Maine.

Isn't it beautiful?

Um, I think I would have a black light in my bedroom and do a check through the entire room before bed EVERY NIGHT!

Yes, it is perfect in almost every way.

And in a few weeks it will be bigger! Is it an "icebox" type?

I planted some seeds, probably WAY too late, but I have 4 puny plants. MAYBE something will develop if they manage to grow.

BF told me to go out last night with a black light and "hunt" for hornworms on my tomato plants - the thought being the white on their backs would glow.

Well, it appears everything glows under a black light (I apparently missed that part of my teenage years). Especially giant spiders.
Have you tried golf ball finding glasses? They're a blue lens that make the whites really pop during daylight hours.

Yes, it is perfect in almost every way.

You could market that right now as a diet-size watermelon!
It's SO cute!

Ah...memories of my youth... Shaking out the shoes before putting them on!
