It was a spoof... the guys legs in the cart are fake and he's walking underneath the cover. If you watch you'll see his body motion. Most of the time the chicken's feet aren't even touching the ground. He's "walking" because he see's the ground in motion beneath him. Hold a puppy over water and it will dog paddle

I remember watching green acres followed by petticoat junction. Something about that water tower behind the bldg that those girls were "bathing/swimming" in... hmmmm Then they drank that? Or maybe that was a train refill tank (

) rather than a drinking water tank? and Car 54 where are you. I believe the singing cowboy being thought about was Roy Rodgers and Dale Evans... Gene Autry did sing, but he was primarily singing in movies vice TV shows. I loved Ma & Pa Kettle when I was little, and also the Francis the Talking Mule movies.
 
Every morning before school, I'd sneak the TV on and watch the 3 stooges and Spanky and the little rascals. My mom tried to ban me from watching because she said it was a bad influence on me. Heck, I didn't need that to get in trouble... My maternal grandmother called me "peck's bad boy" (for those unaware, Peck is the devil) and I got blamed and punished for just about any and everything that happened being as I was the oldest boy. Dang... I will have to start watching all of those antique shows.

I did watch, but didn't really like the Lone Ranger. Too much singing.... Or was that a different one, with the perpetually singing cowbow?
I agree. I never cared for that show much either.
