It was like this a bunch in the 90s and somewhat in the early 2000's. Tahoe is close to Squaw Valley--Site of Winter Olympics at least once. Before global warming, there was usually a lot of snow up there.

I hope Dams can go longer than 50 years before they fail! We have some aging dams here in California.

There has got to be a way to shovel out that vent! Clothes need to dry! Maybe you can put up clothing lines in the basement next to the furnace... it would dry everything quickly and also help with the dry air due to the furnace. (Actually....it is a giant wood stove or something, right?)

I have a low vent...for my hot water heater. lots of shoveling.

Anyway...blows me away that you don't have a second story door. You do have a second story though...right? So... can you just start using a window?
