The Old Folks Home

Raised turkeys a few years ago guys are not so big on butchering
We bartered ours to get them done. I traded a quad of birds of their choice in exchange he butchered 2 toms for us.

I don't sew, quilt anymore.. but I do love my flower bed. It's longer.. but putting in bushes on the other end. Just can't do what I used to. Used to love doing a veggie garden too. Keeping up with chickens though :)

I agree with Diva it is pretty no doubt and maybe if I want flowers.. my roses are all along the fenceline
to the garden 3 in front at the bottom of the stairs think I will take photo's today maybe by the old garden gate or the new one
maybe then get input you all

Thank you. :) And yes.. photos.. I do have some rose bushes that are coming along. Maybe I will put more rose bushes at the other end. Share photos of your roses.. Looking for a good color.

Thank you all for the moccasin recommendations. I have let her know.

Quote: I decided against resigning at this moment and did the driving refresher. Turns out it was only another driver and myself who kept the original dates, so I was glad I didn't resign with such bad timing. It was nice to see the trainers again (they trained me and are bus drivers for my previous division.) They are the reason that word travelled so fast to this division about my unemployed status and qualifications originally...lol.

We went for a nice coffee and I gave everyone got a carton of eggs. I made certain it was "after" I'd been graded. I'd never want to influence my marks with a bribe of farm fresh eggs.

But to answer your question as to why I'm on the fence...

I like the job and the students. A lot. More than I ever thought I would. It's very fulfilling.
I'm good at my job (not trying to sound conceited, I'm just confident in my abilities at this job)
I've been doing this job for over a decade. Feeling really old saying this...lol
My bosses have been great at this division and the coordinator is AMAZING. I deal with her the most. She deserves an award or something.

BUT (and it's a HUGE but)

I'm getting old...ok older.

The job is hard on my back and body.
The onus is on me if something happens. I find I spend more time running around getting things fixed because they haven't been fixed or haven't been reported. Ugh.
The is pay is less than ideal. And not that it's so much about the money...it's also the fact that I save more money staying home and running the equipment here than having to pay someone to come in and work for us. I don't make bussing what we'd have to pay someone to work for us.
And probably the most important, I don't really have the time to have a job. I know...that's a funny statement.

I still feel obligated to this division though. Technically I resigned from my full time driving position at my son's school division in 2010. I loved that job. I resigned because of irreconcilable differences. I believe in honesty, being decent and respecting people who work hard for you. Let's just say the heads did not believe in that and I couldn't believe how they treated bus drivers who had been there for years. I was just a newbie but it was just terrible and underhanded. Somehow I got voted to be one of the drivers to work with the union in talks. (And I don't even like the union) That just made it more difficult for me. I eventually said screw it and resigned. It wasn't going to get any better. I wasn't at a very good place at that time. The day my current division called was the day we discovered that coyotes had hit our sheep and killed several ewes and lambs. Their call was the only bright spot in a very dark year.

I'm also in a good place with the chickens. I don't want to lose that. We had one of the top flocks of sheep at the time I originally started driving and I was the vice president of the Canadian association. All that got shifted to the background. I want to concentrate on my birds and get back to the sheep. That's about the l-o-n-g of it.
