The Old Folks Home

Is this your fantasy? Or your reality?

I have snow and zero green. But I now have some mud.

and not only on the "swallow up an entire car" driveway.
Blach.

Well....you actually get heat though, so I am sure you will be fine.

this is just the last hit of April Showers northern version.

I think we're past the falling snow. There's still some on the ground in places. Going to be a high of 75 tomorrow then back down into the 40s starting early next week.

My bees come tomorrow.

Lots to do this weekend, too.

I have seen more bees around than I have in the last 5 years! I'm so excited it shows that all my planting is helping to feed them! I even put some raw honey out for them
before my fruit trees started blooming.

I have planted some flowers in with my veggies for them. I am also going to plant some of the zinnias, marigolds and chamomile around the pasture to pop up here and there for them hopefully they will continue to reseed themselves.

Quote: I still have my 1st Pern book bought in '73, 'Dragonflight' and every book that she wrote after that.

I read a lot of old sci fi when I was young. All my mom read were harlequin romances. I hated most people then, so romance was the furthest thing from my mind. I wanted to escape. Sci fi let me do that. Have space, will travel.

'Have Spacesiut will Travel' was one of the 1st Sci-Fi books I remember reading.
Quote: The Foundation Series was some good reading

Quote: You missed Piers Anthony, or you don't like that many puns running amuck.

Quote: Was that his 'I Robot' series?
I still have every book that I have ever bought, the DW is not all that happy about them all over her house.

I can remember selling two or three boxes of Star Trek novels at a rummage sale and when they sold, which was very quickly, the buyer asked me why I was selling my Trek books. REAL Trekkies never parted with their books. I told them the only reason I was selling them was to make room for more. I had about another 3 or 4 boxes in the house that I wasn't parting with.

That impressed them.

Robert Heinlein was another favorite of mine.

BTW good morning everyone.

Hope your day is bright and sunny. It's raining here again and will continue over the next 4 days. I shouldn't complain as we really need the moisture but I would appreciate a break like we had yesterday.

Since we are talking books, I just finished re-reading the Clan of the Cave Bear series, I never read the last one before, and it had been years so I just re-read the entire series.

Also, I love Mercedes Lackey, and all of her books. She has dragon rider books too.
