The Old Folks Home

Hi everyone! Hope your Tuesday is sunny and pleasant!

We just came in from the latest version of the never ending wood story. DH chained, I loaded it in the tractor bucket, then it was transported to the barn for processing. We wound up doing three bucket loads and got half of it split before the heat chased us inside.

My opinion of Facebook is ......:tongue

Kudos for helping out the babies. I just had a robin hatch out three fledglings in a nest that she built in the fork of one of our dwarf fruit trees, right at eye level.

I've also seen squirrels try to raid my bluebird boxes (they didn't live to raid it again) so I can well imagine someting like that spooking parents enough that they abandon the nest. I hope they do well.

Awe dang! I would love to have guineas but I just can't do that to my long-suffering neighbors. We share a fence and often talk over it. They never complain about my messy yard or the crowing when I hatch too many roosters. Or when my girls sneak into their yard to scratch around in their compost.

Can't find the original CD with the formula I used, but have rehabbed several wild birds, and that is what I have used successfully. I did use the regular Flintstone children's vitamins, no iron, or no extra iron.

Curiously, why the tums?
