The Old Folks Home

Chickadoodles, RE: leg cramps. Yeah, been there done that. Agree with Capricornfarm completely. A doctor told me once that when I had a sudden onset of leg cramps (something about kidneys taking spells where they waste potassium blah blah blah) that the fastest way to bring them to an end was to use salt substitute. I told him I was using OTC potassium tablets and he told me basically they weren't worth the money to make them. They weren't possessing enough potassium to be considered therapeutic.

I had leg cramps in both legs so bad during menopause that they would wake me up in the middle of the night in tears. I finally had to go the quinine route to get rid of them.

Hope you get to feeling better. Also, look up foods high in Potassium. Many are very yummy like cashews and bananas along with baked chicken skin.

Thanks Cap and Micro. I will try some Potassium I may find out more when I go back to have blood work in a couple weeks. I do have some Potassium pills from previous scripts.
Thanks also Deb and Penny. I try to keep banana's around and eat potatoes once a week or so. We just had some last night in the home made chicken pot pie.

Sound like a wonderful time for you LS getting to spend time with family is so precious!
Plus a bonus getting some help with the heavy lifting.

Be careful with potassium pills.... Potassium can mess with your heart. Best to go with edibles till you can talk to the doctor.
