I vote for Black Star(black sexlink) and a barred rock

Every time I see @Beer can's avatar I have a momentary flash of thinking "what is wrong with that poor rooster?" Then I remember....rooster is fine.

Spent the afternoon trying on every pair of boots I own and finally found a pair that fit without shooting me to the ceiling. If weather is permitting, looks like I'm going to be wearing my muck boots along with a pair of really warm socks.

@CapricornFarm, you have far way too much energy.

Not all black stars have that much color.

The barred chicken you have could be a cuckoo marans if it has feathered feet.They lay eggs that are dark but not as dark as FBCM hens do

I was pretty certain she was br as I had 9 and no feathering and her and one of the blacks has not layed as of yet but are all young

I've always said that being a moderator is a thankless job that you couldn't pay me enough money to take. A good one knows how to put out brush fires as soon as they break out. Unfortunately there are those who think having an on line persona is a blank check to act like the south end of a north bound mule and those are the ones that drive off good members if not for the swift actions of the mods.

So my thanks to all you moderators out there.

I just got back from town. Couldn't find any shoes I could wear so I wound up wearing my beat up garden clogs and using a cane. Took me twice as long as usual but man, have gray hair and use a cane.....Do you ever get the service! This getting old may have a few positive benefits, LOL!

We just had our first frost... which was due Oct. 20th.... but any way.

We had a few hard frosts last month but, it's only been a couple days since the trees are actually dropping leaves. Have never seen it take them so long. Really going to be a mess if snow buries the leaves. The only good part was the very vivid color change of the maples etc. has lasted for quite some time. Another oddity for us.

We the old folks he are what keeps me going all the time just to see what we or one of us have done this time. We fall get back up laughing so hard fall again..... One never knows how much I love all of you for it
