The Old Folks Home

Happy cats!
My cat tree has a single post up to a half "tube" on top with intermediate stops (half tube, round circle, house with a hole in the roof) attached. Sometimes the cats use the people furniture to get up to a mid point then climb to the upper level. Sometimes they just claw their way 6' up the rug covered post.

ours love the houses and hiding places what better way to pounce on you

Yeah, i should have put a solid side or 2 on, then i would not need the braces. Live and learn.

we actually secured ours to the floor we have two mountain lion cubs I swear they are huge cats Tuxedo 10 lbs. and Rocky at 13 lbs. then the others are all normal size I think the mountain lion snuck in one night but they are different litters :gig:lau:yesss:

We have one cat, Gem who weighs about 18 pounds. He is a blonde cougar in miniature. His profile looks so much like a lion's head. Our 17 year old diabetic half Siamese miniature panther weighs about 14 pounds.

We have an oak entertainment center that they jump on,climb, lay on. It swayed so bad that DH finally had to secure it to the wall. We thought about building them a cat tower buy hey, they already have one!

Mine are doing too much clawing other places so hoping this will be their new fav spot.

So, I tried a new breakfast concoction... Never make english muffins with cinnamon while 1/2 asleep, in the dark. It's amazing how similar a bottle of chile powder is to a same sized bottle of cinnamon. Pretty similar in color as well in very low light. So after sprinkling/tapping out the "cinnamon" onto the muffin followed by a dusting of sugar, that first bite is a real wake up :sick

The chile powder has been moved to a more appropriate place to avoid any further confusion...

Ls I'm so sorry! But I sure needed that laugh. Thanks for sharing! :gig

We have leather furniture so I hear ya.

We went out and cut 4 foot lengths of Osage orange posts and mounted them on 2X8 boards. We placed them strategically around the house where they were likely to hit the furniture. At the corners, etc. Their favorite is leaned against the basement door. If they don't use the others at the corners of the sofa, it at least keeps them from clawing the corners.

Osage Orange posts are nearly indestructible yet over the past three years they have managed to pretty well shred them.
