The Old Folks Home

@perchie.girl You are in what I call patient 'hades' right now. Hurry up and wait. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

@CapricornFarm, that quilt is gorgeous. I don't know if I commented earlier about it but I meant to. How long did it take you to finish it?

@penny1960 Don't feel bad. You are probably like me and short waisted. My father was also. I used to call him a barrel with legs and I think I inherited his body shape. I'm not a barrel but I laughingly say I have a waist there somewhere....thanks dad.

You are healthier even though you are heavier. My mom always weighed between 135 and 145. When she died she weighed about 80 pounds. I keep remembering how fast she lost her weight and what would have happened to her had she weighed 105 pounds as she did when she was a bride.

Thanks, i really don't remember how long it took. I did enjoy making it. You sew the pieces into strips and then sew the strips together. Pretty easy.

My mom quit smoking in her mid 60s after a life time of the habit. She got pneumonia after surgery and the doctor told her quit or go home on oxygen. She quit. My dad quit a year later in his early 70s. Dad never voiced a desire to smoke again. He said he tried a cigarette on a dare some 5 years after quitting but became nauseated and vomited. I'm sure if somebody had offered her a smoke when she was on O 2 she would have taken it.
