The Old Folks Home

So sorry Chicka.:hugs

I avoid Walmart like the plague when there is a flu outbreak. It's like going to an elementary school on steroids when the cold season hits. I won't go there for a million bucks. Heck I won't even go to the local pharmacy or my doctor's right now. I just call our local pharmacy and tell him to stick my Rx's in the mail and he does.

Feel better. So many folks are sick right now. We need another really cold spell that will maybe kill off some of the crud.

I guess I should be happy - the dog isn't terribly destructive. She chews her toys (and any cat toy that she's able to get hold of). She chews her plastic food bowl. All have lasted over a month, so far. The skunk toy that she likes to much we just ordered a new one, grandma's dogs ripped the squeakers out of it on Friday.

We went for two walks today, one into the woods. Snow is still knee deep in places, dog isn't heavy enough to punch through which made the walking very awkward for me. Dog couldn't figure out why I was so slow. The second walk the neighbors kids came out and the dog turned into a full on psychopath. She loves kids. She whined when we had to leave.

I am enjoying the company while I do the outdoor chores, and I'm enjoying being forced to take a walk most nights.

It is so miserable!,
See you have a turkey on your avatar. Are you raising them now? Considering some.

No this is one I had before I got out of raising poultry.
You would love raising turkey they are so easy to care for and I got as attached to them as one would a dog or cat.

A pandemic is long past due and when it happens next, with air travel and rapid movement globally, it will be major and impossible to stop once it's started. Gonna be very bad methinks...
I'm glad I don't have need to go many places lately. Did grocery shopping on Friday. First time I've left the property since Thursday the week before. Considering going to the farm show one day this week (T-Th) but y'all talking about how bad this flu is has me rethinking that idea :(

DD's rat dog, min pin bichon mix (looks like a long haired chihuahua and tiny) does the revenge pooping. If she's mad at us for some reason there is guaranteed to be a turd in our bedroom. And you can tell she did it before you see it, she looks between guilty and satisfied
I hear they taste like chicken
I can't even imagine why someone would cross those 2 breeds. Actually, I can't imagine owning either one. I'm definitely not a tiny dog person.

Last week I mentioned I had finished a top for a baby quilt that I just absolutely couldn't stand.

Sat down this weekend and finished it between dog walks and chores.

It looks a bit better with some quilting.

I'm still embarrassed to gift it. It only cost me time and batting and I think you can easily tell. Obviously the top is all scraps of fabric (I have realized I hate scrappy quilts) as is the binding. Dsqard lost a bet to me and had to buy my backing fabric. I realize the kid is just going to excrete on it, so I'm going to have to get over the fact that it's not a prize winner and just gift it. Lesson learned. Just say no to scrap.
