The Old Folks Home

marans aside I threw three of my green into the mix these are black birds EE from Junebuggena cockerel is my lavender ameracauna beautiful still very young very good to his girls but they will hatch black also goody more monster green eggs often they will not fit in the cartons but see air sac in those after 24 hours

Just candled my eggs. Day 5 okay, I know but seriously, can't wait till day 7.

I've got 4 showing definite veining and embryos one clear. Happy dance time!:wee:celebrate:wee
I love hatching chicks! Can hardly wait to get my quail!

Me neither although it looks as though if I want Egyptian Fayoumis I'm going to have to at some point. I put out a call for fertile eggs on the hatching egg and Fayoumi thread but so far no nibbles.

I enjoy incubating way too much. My broodies do a good job but my hatch rates are better than their's are. Last broody had two or three dead in the shell.

I've been studying the different OEGB chicks colors and markings hoping to be able to pull 4 or 6 out of the bin. I know the chipmunk look of BBRs no problem there but I would LOVE to find a SDW or two.

@perchie.girl, your dad must have had a real angel on his shoulder that day to survive that crash.
I think dad had about five guardian angels and they all were thrill seekers in their past lives...:gig

Dads true love was Airplanes.... and he was always betting a case of beer that he could do things.... Like inside loops around telephone wires.... He messed up on that one hooked a wire and pulled about a thousand feet off the telephone poles. then flying out into the desert to some place remote so he could land and remove the wire....
To keep from getting in trouble....

Or betting someone that he could land in front of the hanger with a plane that had no air breaks. And it Wasnt his plane....:lau How he did it...? he flew with a buddy named Dick Sweet... HE told Dick that when gave him the signal to kick open the passenger door and keep it open. It worked....

Or showing a friend about some stunt flying.... A Lomshevock is a maneuver where you go Balls to the wall straight up and at the top you flip the stick over and the airplane tumbles a couple of times before you straighten out and pull up.... When dad did this he blacked out for a moment.... and pulled it out just before they hit the ground... there was puke all over the windshield. Two seater passenger sits in front....

I have seen a picture of that plane it was a bi plane..... after he crashed it. He walked away but the plane didnt.
