I saw one of those listed on CL here for $400!

We went for a long walk this morning. My LL Bean boot top split from the bottom about a mile and a half from the house. Then on the way back there was a herd of 16 deer, a pop up blizzard to go with the wind and then the dog went insane, digging and sniffing, then... pop

She flings the mouse out of her nice warm den, then sticks her face back in there, slurping up all the smells of a mouse nest. Smelled the mouse a few times, but honestly didn't care much about it. The mouse was not impressed.
You are having a lot of fun times with her!

Sounds less traumatic then with the Guineas....

I just stopped washing clothes altogether... when I found how much water that saved I stopped bathing too. ;)
Do you use a sweat lodge?

I would worry about the 'less water' part. Everything here gets so greeby that even if I cut down the size of the load I still have to wash through two cycles to get them clean. Our clothes washer is a bit long in the tooth and should upgrade but the silly thing is so reliable. Every now and then, DH tightens up the belts on it and it's good to go. We tend to take that old saying serious, how's it go? Use it up, wear it out, make it do or go without?

We are pretty adamant when it comes to refrigerators though. After X number of years they are not as energy efficient as the newer ones. DH and I replaced stove and fridge about 4 years ago and we moved the old appliances to the farm. When we retired we traded out the old ones for the new ones. The old stove will be eventually hooked up in the utility room for summer use and the old refrigerator is our spare.

I am amazed that the pup didn't kill the mouse. Our JR cross will dig until she comes up with a vole or mouse. She will be oblivious to any orders to come in and when I finally go out after her she will trot up to the house with a very dead rodent in her mouth to proudly show me.

Can't very well scold them for doing what they are programmed to do.
