Notice the closeup of my big oregano growing next to the pond.

I think it takes 3 years for the ecosystem to develop. Until then you just support and put out brush fires in the form of string algae, cotton fungus and parasites....almost like taking care of chickens....:gig

I raised 4 large koi in mine, countless shubunkins and comets that bred like mad. A heat wave with 100 degree temps wiped them all out one summer. I filled the pond that fall. That heatwave beat me and made me realize how fragile the balance was and how easy it was to push it over the edge.

Yep Bruce, i have a list of projects as long as your arm!
Don't we all, but you seem to make progress on yours!

I'm waiting on our stuff for the kitchen to be delivered. I thought they would have been here by now.
And the load of crushed rock dh ordered to fix the drive way is supposed to be here today also.
Hopefully the stone won't be delivered and dumped in front of the path to the house just before the appliances get there!

You do have a beautiful pond and garden maw maw.

A friend that wants my sink said she would barter for it. I told her I did not want any money.
Her husband has his own company and does dirt work and concrete, asphalt. I wonder if it would be asking to much of her to get her hubby to bring his track hoe and dig me out a small pond? I already told her she would have to bring a trailer to pick it up. But I'm concerned about the cost of fuel for him to bring the track hoe.
She's about an hour and a half from us. What do y'all think?

Does this sink look sort of familiar?

I don't know what it sold for but they were asking $895. Are you SURE you don't want to keep it?? :D

But to answer your question, even with the distance to travel, if your sink is worth even half of what they wanted for the one I linked, having him dig you a pond would be a good barter exchange. Probably better for them than for you $$ wise. Especially so if they just consider the cost of fuel for the round trip and the excavator. If you feel the need to sweeten the deal, you can make them a nice dinner.
