The Old Folks Home

SCG I really love your dog. I used to walk sometimes , 24 miles or so in a day - just because I could. My cruising speed was 3 mph but, I could keep that up for the 8 hrs or more, I used to be out.

I went through 4-5 suburbs doing so. Loved it but, getting up or sitting down would be
very painful. Just kinda got frozen in the standing position. Got a lot of overuse injuries from all the walking but, seemed to pick up a fan club doing so. Haven't walked more than a couple miles or so since then. But people keep telling me they saw me walking at such and such location. Could not convince them it wasn't me.

Hate to think someone else looks like me - per soul. BTW i am 70.8 years old. I think the oldest here is Sour, I'm pretty sure he is 80.:plbb

We went for another almost-mile this afternoon to round it out to 5 total for the day. Dsqard and I can do about 12 when we go hiking up a mountain and back down.

I contacted the snowmobile club to donate some money for upkeep - these are the trails I am walking - hopefully they don't tell me to cease and desist using them because it is so many miles of lovely trails, but I really do want to help with a donation. I have permission from the people within about a mile of my house to be on their land (and the trails on their land), but further than that and I'm pressing my luck on the trails without permission.

My hips definitely feel the "old" - like you if I sit for too long I have a real hard time getting going again. My knees (the MCLs) are still a bit weird feeling after tearing them in Yosemite last June, but they've been keeping me going.

BF finally came home after 3 days of being in Boston. The dog did not sleep those 3 nights; she was elated to see him. Hopefully the not sleeping was due to missing daddy (she kept ringing the bell to go outside every 60 to 90 minutes) and not a new pattern of not sleeping.

It's starting to heal. I'm trying to be careful. Thanks for asking.
That is good news!
