The Old Folks Home

So sorry to hear that you lost the 5 chicks, @penny1960. I don't think anything is 100% foolproof.

Sunny this morning but bitterly cold here, something like 9 degrees outside. So very depressing. This is supposed to be spring and at least 60 outside for highs, not 39. At least the fruit trees aren't in bloom and this years crop destroyed.

Our Easter was quiet also. I made a sirloin roast for dinner with all the fixings. Desert was blue berry cheese cake. I was stuffed and slept like a log last night.

On the bright side, my broody stayed off her nest over night two nights ago but is now happily sitting on her 4 ceramic eggs and screeching at me like a banshee so. I figure if she sticks it out through this cold spell she will stick with it this time.

Tomorrow is DH and my 11th wedding anniversary. He was going to take me out to dinner but now with the road unplowed, he said he doubted if we were going to get out. Rain check time!
