The Old Folks Home

Took the dog for 4.5 miles this morning. Looks like we won't be able to use that trail beyond my neighbors property until winter sets in. We ran into a German Shepherd, then the far away tied up dog that my dog is terrified of (we can barely see the dog but apparently the barks convey some very nasty thoughts) and then after that we ran into a loose pit bull that was incredibly angry and we had to turn around.

The end of the neighbors property is a about a mile, so we'll still get 2 miles in a day, but not the 4 to 5 we were doing along the long trail.

The dog walked about 1/3 over the scary bridge today, too, before chickening out and turning around. We did that twice, then she decided she could cross on the actual stream instead of using the bridge.

As soon as ds left yesterday I got laundry going and put on a pork loin with red potatoes and baby carrots.
We've been eating junk this whole time the kitchen has been tore up.
It was nice having a healthy meal.
It is great to have the kitchen back!

The skirt steak I BBQd last night was very good

You have a water Dog!

Funny because she's usually terrified of water and puddles. And we cross multiple other bridges on the hike, just this one she refuses.
My Oldest DD has two snow dogs...and live in Santa Clara where it does not snow!

One is a Lhasa apso and the other is a Siberian Huskie.

Riley, the Lhasa Apso goes nuts when they take her to my Moms place in the mountains. When it is hot here she overheats very quickly

This dog isn't supposed to be a snow dog, but she loves it. She is going to be sad when the last of the snowbanks melt.

Clearly the bridge is much more scary than the log to cross.

Bummer SCG, can't do much about the dog barking angry things at yours but the loose dog? :smack

I suspect the missing pieces in that bridge would be a bit concerning to the poor pooch!!

I am now getting requests for Vanilla and spice doughnuts and Chocolate glazed with coffee icing.
I think we all need to be Ron's very close neighbors. Food at his house always seems much more varied and interesting than here.

Lhasa Apso in the snow only works until the snow is about 12" deep and the dog can't breathe anymore :gig
