The Old Folks Home

Happy Sunday everyone.

Busy day here so not much time for the internet. We had our Amateur Radio group meeting early this afternoon. By the time we got out it was starting to snow. So far we have had about an inch or more and it's still coming down.

I'm tired of being disgusted with the weather. Now I just plain HATE it with a screaming red passion.

I think you guys who cook would be millionaires if you started selling your culinary creations.

Frankly could eat chocolate donuts until they were squirting out of my ears.

Hope everyone's hatches are coming along and if the weather is bad you are staying warm and dry.

My Brother in Laws thought I should open a pizza parlor! They were very impressed with the pizza I baked for them...That was back in 1981 LOL.

I could see a Soup, sandwich and coffee shop. Something that had limited hours and not 12 hour days though.

There is a bakery that makes some gluten free things including "donut muffins". Look like muffins, taste like donuts.

I don't want to be a mooch... but if I lived next door to Ron, I just might beg at their kitchen door! :drool

DH three of our dogs and myself took a walk in the snow (which is still coming down) toour pond.We flushed 4 wood ducks off the water and stood watching two Eastern Phoebe's fly over the water, dip down for a beak full of water to make mud for their nest which had to be nearby.

Right now the sun is setting and everything has a pink cast to it.

It's too pretty outside to hate the snow so I just say I won't miss it when it melts.

chicka, did you say you got your kitchen done? If so, CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Even I know that donuts are fried, and I don't really know too much. That doughnut pan sound about like my grit pot.

Get out your turkey or fish fryer to fry them, and set your oven racks over trays, to use for setting them on after glazing. The glaze that drips into the pans can be re-used. Get a paper bag, put sugar and a little cinnamon in it, then shake a batch of (hot) donuts in it. Let some sit out and cool, then frost them. There are so many ways to do donuts, and they're all delicious.

I can't get the food to you here but wanted to share the pcitures!
