my spouse is so super allergic to poison ivy that once it gets ahold it just keeps spreading until spouse gets steroids.
knew one guy back in college how was the same way... he didn't know he needed to go get seen, and the rash just kept spreading... finely one day we asked why he wasn't rolling up his sleeves in the warm weather... which us when he showed us his rash! All over! Up the back of his neck, his arms, his chest! Well all told him he had to go to the doc right then and there and get some steroids. That is the worst case I have ever seen.
No poison ivy or poison oak up here.. we have pushki. I think other folks call it cow parsnip. Nasty stuff... I have one boy that is super sensitive to it, 2 that are immune, and 2 that are regular.
Wild Parsnip! GAAAAAAAAGH I hate that stuff. We have it around here. Stupid stuff almost looks like Queen Ann's lace when it is immature.
DH and I road our dirt bikes in the field one year and I ran through some of it without realizing what it was. Huge blisters on my leg. The doctor didn't even know what it was. I figured it out one day while reading an article about poison ivy, etc and told him what it was. He'd never heard of it before.
Next year DH got into some of it. Now we pretty much have it engraved in our memory.
I thought that poison Ivy (Missouri has something like 17 different varieties of poison Ivy and some of them are quite deceptively pretty) was bad but wild Parsnip is just plain brutal.
Take care @CapricornFarm. Hydrocortisone salve works, oatmeal helps. DH swears by Tinactin and I have to admit it will relieve the itch but the Hydrocortisone salve works best for me. That and Kenalog IM. God bless steroids.
I ain't that hungry
