From you mouth to God's ears, @ronott1.

I'd asked last year at Orscheln's if they had their chicks vaccinated by the hatchery and they said yes. I can only hope that since they were 7+ days old when I got them they had plenty of time to build up their immune system. The BBRs hatched when the SDWs were four weeks old and they were roomed together in the same room and then in the same grow out pen for the past 4+weeks. I don't know if it is possible for the BBRs to attain any sort of immunity from sleeping with the vaccinated chicks for 4 weeks but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Lord knows I don't change clothes and shower every time I enter that room. If I did I may as well live in the shower. Dogs are running through there so they have been exposed but not directly until today. Hopefully their little immune systems are in full gear.

OMG @CapricornFarm! That is a lot of water. This is the river that runs by your property? Stay safe!

Good news on the tree and vine!

My Mom passed here tests (nuclear heart stress test) and is scheduled for spinal Stenosis decompression surgery on Friday. She can't stand up and walk do to the nerve compression. The surgery should take care of that

Oh Ron that is fantastic news! I am so happy for her! I pray she will have a quick recovery!

Dh saw his Dr. and this is the update
He will need surgery to fuse the 4 bulging disks that are pushing the spinal fluid tube that is nearly closed off. He will have to be off work for many weeks and it will take over 6 months to heal if the fusion works. They will take bone from his hip again and use some other type of bone or bone like compound to fuse his spine and put in 2 plates and screws to hold it in place. Not sure yet when he will do this probably in Oct when his company slows down for the season.

Oh my. Is he going to be able to tolerate the pain that long? October is a loonnng a long time to wait if you have severe back pain.

Sure hope they are able to help him, tho. Sounds as though they are on the right track.

I am sorry he has to wait that long. Will some Physical Therapy help at all?
