I think all my quilts have been free except one. I didn't enjoy getting paid for it, to me that seemed like too much pressure to make what she wanted and not enough creative freedom to just do what pleases me.

I worry about whether they'll like it rather than enjoying the process. That's a big change for me because I do this to calm my brain, not to stress out.

And before anyone else says I do great work let me share what I just finished. Wanted to learn to do some different embroidery designs so I used the opportunity to spiff up the guest bathroom.

I can understand how SGC feels.

The one God given talent that I possess that I am very proud of is that I am an artist. I draw, do ink, watercolor, acrylics but my love is pencil. I gave my niece several of my pieces of work. She was an art student at the time and admonished me greatly for choosing a career in medicine over a career in art. She told me that I was gifted and with college training I would have been great. I just shook my head and told her that I earned my living as a nurse. My passion was my art. I never wanted to earn a living doing what to me was a pleasure, namely art. Yes, I've sold pieces here and there, but nothing tops the joy I get personally when I create on paper, things I love to draw.
