The Old Folks Home

I still split easy stuff with the maul, doesn't seem right to waste gas and time with the splitter.
True. If you have ash, it is straight grained and splits easily. Then there are harder woods like maple and oak. And THEN there are the gnarly twisted fibers in elm. I don't know how anyone could hand split that. Even with a splitter it is recommended to slab off the "sides" rather than trying to go through the middle.

We had donuts and bagels at work today!

I hope he is better soon!

Thank Ron. He is shooting for surgery in Oct. When his work load slows down. His boss said he's not to do anything but sit in his chair and run the control panel and computer. Lol
That's great! He has 2 guys that do the rest.

My Mom is doing much better. I need to call and get an update this weekend.

Her surgery decompressed five vertebrae and a some diskectomy work too.

I asked dh if we could paint the kitchen and get it out back together. He said yes. I need to be able to put the stuff back in the kitchen.
I've been trying to declutter our bedroom to get it cleaned and carpet shampooed for the furniture swap when the bed bed comes.
We have a huge hutch headboard that is coming out of our room with the water bed.
I looked at Ashley's for a smaller headboard but they did not have what I wanted. So I asked dh ti make me one that is just a shelf that we can put our alarm clock and meds and drinks on. He said ok. It only needs to be like a 1x6 or a 1x8 stained.

Is she doing well then up moving about
Yes! She has gone from wheel chair to walker. She can lift her legs and wiggle her toes now.

She was paralyzed for 9 weeks
