The Old Folks Home

Speaking of new toilet seats, I need one. The one in the main bathroom is old, and has seen better days. It's plastic, and there are chips out of it, and scuff marks on the seat. I can't even imagine how it happened, and don't really want to. I'll be the one to buy this one.

Dh replaced the one in our bathroom several months ago. It too was in bad shape. He mentioned he was going to get one. A few days later, he needed something from Home Depot, so he went to get whatever it was. While he was there, he got a new toilet seat. Of course, our toilet, sink, tub, etc. are in beige, so he got a white toilet seat. He didn't really notice the difference, until he got it on the toilet.

I found a used bunk bed set on FB marketplace that I like, for $160.00 I didn't tell Dh I was getting it, but I'll meet with them this afternoon. I'm taking Dd, and grands with me. We're meeting at a public place, so I should be safe. Don't worry, I'll go armed. I'll do my best to check it over, to ensure it's all there, and in good shape.

It's such a shame when, for safety reasons, you have to meet in a public place to buy used furniture, like it's a drug deal, or illegal gun sale. I realize it's dangerous nowadays to invite strangers into your home though. Still, it's a very sad commentary on what society has become, and how our judicial system is too lax to put enough fear into criminals as to deter the bulk of serious crimes committed.

Sure they always have you try out top of the line, so anything you try later seems to be lacking.

I think all toilets should have seat belts -sometimes nature takes awhile and then I fall asleep. Used to fall asleep with chin on side of vanity and get marks from the sharp corners.
:lol:not funny but funny:confused:sorry:hugs

Good morning everyone hope y'all have a fabulous day:love

We asked about the separate control sides he said it doubled the price. We told him never mind. It does not seem as soft as the one we tried out.
When we bought our CA King Sleep Number bed they wanted us to sell us the individual tilting base thing. We said no thanks, we don't have a TV in the bedroom (actually no TV service anyway) and don't sit in bed to read. No need for the expensive fancy base.

And as to showing the most expensive so others seem lacking, the top of their high end C8 model was more like "mountains and craters". No way I could sleep on something like that. We went with the C3. I'd read where many people had gotten a topper for the C2 and the C3 has that as part of the build. Very comfy and totally isolating, never know the other person in the bed has gotten up or rolled over. Only hear the rustling or tugging of sheets.

I only wanted dh to have a bed he would be able to get in and out of. I was very surprised that dh wanted this base. But he is going to spend a lot of time recovering from surgery.
At first I suggested he just get a twin bed and put it in the living room so I could take care of him in here like he did for me when I came home from the hospital.
But he wanted a new bed. And he picked out the base and the mattress. I would have been happy with just a frame. Many of our friends have the sleep number beds and I tried to get dh to go look at those before we bought this one. But they had it on sale due to the Memorial day sale. And they did knock off even more off the price when we told them we were going to go home and think about it. So we did save a lot of money that way also. And I think it was a last years model. I did not mean to make any one feel lacking.
If I came across that way I apologize.
I did buy a 2" memory foam and 2" thick mattress pad for the RV so we would not have to buy another mattress.

I cannot feel when dh moves or rolls over on this mattress either. But it is not as soft as the one we tested out in the store either. Dh is still not happy with it. and Ashley's states all sales are final when they have you sign the agreement. So I hope dh can get used to it.
Dh will spend 6 weeks lounging in the recliner or the bed after his spinal fusion and that was the only reason he bought this bed. And the Dr. told him it would take up to a year for the spine to heal.

It s a bit of an adjustment to move from a water bed to a regular mattress. Give it some time.

It will be very helpful after surgery.

Did did you find out more about the replacement option?

Dh is not going to be able to have the disk replacement. Due to his crushed disks putting pressure on the spinal cord and pinching off the spinal fluid to his legs. He will have to have the fusion to straighten his disks back out so he won't become paralyzed.
I told dh it's going to take a bit to get used to a new bed. Our bed in the RV about kills us. Lol there is a big difference.
