We've had trouble with constrictors (boas, pythons, and anacondas) for years now. It started with people letting their pet snakes loose when they got too big, too mean, or too expensive to care for. They do yearly hunts, but don't really get that many, and the main place that was having difficulty, the Everglades, was restricted. I just read where this year, they've hired professionals to go in, and kill as many of them off, as they can.
They are decimating the native bird population, native wild boar, native deer, even the alligators are not safe from them. They're disrupting the whole eco-system, and food chain, especially in the Everglades.
