The Old Folks Home

I have to add that there is a certain trusting that goes with belonging in these forums.. I belong to numerous ornamental tropical fish forums.. I breed and sell tropical fish over the internet, I've ship fish to Tampa, and I go there once or twice a week; and I've also shipped fish as far as Yakima and Seattle, WA.. Also, I'm proud to live in Lakeland, Fl. I want all to know, I live in a place where I can go sit by the lake and read a good book..

I had a member of BYC come over to the house to pick up Larry, my drake.. A very decent and cordial visit.. There is a member of one fish forum (Guppies.com), from OH, he's coming to Orlando, FL. for some business meetings next month, we're going to get together for dinner, it'll be nice to meet someone I interact with daily in a forum.. Also, I'm going to NYC in August (I spent every August in NY), there I'm going to get together with two Marines who served with with me in Beirut, Lebanon.. Haven't seen them in nearly 40 yrs, it will be some kind of emotional, I lost too many frs.. I served for 4 months in Vietnam '73 and 11 months in Beirut '76-'77.. My Marine Corps experience is a story for another day..

My point: I couldn't live a normal life if I had to mistrust everyone I meet from the get.. I think I can afford to give the benefit of the doubt to start with.. Then again, "Everybody is Normal 'till You Get to Know Them"; right??

Wow I am the same way... though since i got mugged I am a little more mindful of my surroundings when I am out of the car. I will chat with anyone... even bikers that I am not so sure if they are Hells Angles or not.

How many breeds of fish do you have? I used to work in a large store that had over two hundred Aquariums and an Ichtheologist on staff. Learned alot about the practical side of keeping fish. I started working there the year after they started using All glass aquariums instead of the kind with glass and steel and tar to hold them all together.

At one point I had over three hundred gallons worth of aquariums in my house. A big 110 gallon Two sixty gallon ones and the odd twenty and ten.... One was setup as a vivarium... half water half land... That was my sons.

In my 110 I bought about eight quarter sized angel fish... Buy the end of four months give or take they were almost the size of my hand.... and even spawned on one of the artificial plants...

Hello Geriatrics! It is I, your OP back from reality to immerse myself in BYCdom once again. I see a lot of new names here, but I'm thankful to see many, many OFs still here.

That is OF for 'Old Folk' or 'Old Friends' or even 'Old Farts!' I can think of others, like 'Old F'ers,' 'Ornery Fellers,' 'Odd Folks,' ... but I digress. Feel free to choose whichever you think fits you best.

Most of ours are a couple hrs away, northern NY great lakes area. Last yr it was close by, I should have went but was working 7 days week, it was in the town that giraffe April was giving birth cam that went online nuts.
This yr it's in the finger lakes not real far but not close either. If I was to travel to the finger lakes it would be for fishing or to travel the finger lakes wine trail lol.
