We just got in from the wood project. Dropped one 8 inch scrub hickory and a 7 inch scrub elm. We brought back one tractor bucket of wood. The good news for us is that we discovered a good sized dead oak tree behind the area we were thinning out. If we take out two more scrub hickories we will have a clear shot at it. Temp is 94 here right now. Pretty much cooked us so we called it quits outside for the day.

Every bucket load brings us that much closer to getting done and the dead oak will give us wood that is ready to burn without much curing required.

Chooks have a lot of shade and water not to mention two fans going. Me? I'm sitting here with a big glass of iced tea trying to cool off and praying that we get the thunderstorms they are predicting for the area. Anything to cool it off as long as it doesn't rip the roof off in the process.
