So sorry to hear that you and your wife went through that, JD!

Have you considered asking your doctor for an Epi pen to carry with you if you are going to be anywhere near a hive again? Just to be safe. If I'm working in the orchard during harvest I carry my Epi Pen along with three benedryl along with a Singulair. I've been stung by wasps before and had pretty strong allergic reactions.I'd hate to think of what would happen if I encountered African bees.

A racial slur about bees? Is that a thing now? Do the bees even care? Then, instead of suggesting they be sent back, IF that's even a racial slur, can we suggest they be eradicated? From what I've read, they don't coexist well with native bees, and that's not good. The hybridized bees seem to be more vulnerable to colony collapse than native bees, so we don't need the africanized ones wiping out the native ones.

There are things you cannot say period. A commentator was fired a couple of weeks ago for saying "wait a cotton pickin minute" Calling someone a cotton picker is a slur. The quote actually refers to how hard it is to hand pick cotton. Still they guy was fired

I think society is too touchy now but guaranteed if you use certain phrases, you will get in trouble.

Besides, you would have to say send them back to Brazil to be correct about the bees

Made the kids go pick flowers for grammy today.

The farm where I get my CSA has u-pick flowers included in the CSA. I also got the kids to pick out some berries (they have so far refused to eat them).

I also got some more beets and turnips!

Out of ICU and scared that he was going to die.

We are doing a Fox Hunt today. Not what you think. This one is using radios to track down a hidden transmitter, triangulating the signals which are intermittent and finding the transmitter using a mobile or hand held antenna.

Found a dead English Sparrow floating in the chickens water bowl this morning. Gross! Had to scrub the bowl with antibacterial soap before it could be used. And people wonder why their chickens are getting all manner of diseases. The little pests are worse than mice and cock roaches.

Another one of those good intentions that got out of hand--like bees and beetles

Yesterday my wife and I had a run in with some africanized bees . We only got stung a few times because we vacated the area post haste. Unfortunately I pulled a hamstring on the end of the run. My wife had to take a heavy dose of benadryl.

They used to do Rabbit hunts here .... It was fun to listen to... Even more fun to see short wave rigs on the rabbits.
