The Old Folks Home

When my grandmother hit her late 80's she came back from a friend's funeral, and said that was the last of her lifelong friends. She outlived them all, and felt all alone friend-wise. I suggested her Sunday School group as a source of new friends. They were ok, but it wasn't the same. No common interests. Not too long after that, she started quilting again, and met with the local quilting group. Once again, she had a social life.

Those mentioning that funerals seem to be more of a common occurrence the older you get, it's true.
It is good that she found friends!

Cheryl, it's so true that common interests are so much more important in keeping folks together than things like age. Look at how varied a group some of the threads here are.

Cute chick pics!

I had a very strange dream last night that I heard something outside the front door and when I went and look there was a small, light-colored fox on the doorstep. It ran quickly off under the horse trailer and into the woods. It was so realistic it seemed to have really happened.

Sometimes when the bedroom door is closed, I've thought there was something in the corner. Years ago when I still had a dog, he stared at the same spot, lifted his head & growled. That really scared the daylights out of me. This dog had never growled in his life, and avoided loud noises, wind blowing a door closed, or someone popping their gum while chewing and he was gone in a flash. But that night, I was very glad he was there.

Wishing all my friends an amazing day..:hugs
