The Old Folks Home

Only 1.5 hour south of us ;) Kinda "worse", we'll be driving round trip to the Killington area Monday but won't have time to even swing by to shake hands :(

Made it to Sackville, NB Sunday. B&B is nice but we chose it specifically because their restaurant had lamb on the menu. I love lamb, can't get it at restaurants at home. No lamb available tonight and maybe not when we come back on Wed night :( Might choose to eat at a restaurant in town, much less money.

Mt. Allison tour started at 10 AM Monday, goes to 11:30. Then meet with registrar for 1/2 hour followed by the head of the languages program. DD wants to double major in Spanish and Japanese with thoughts toward teaching ESL and translating. After however much more time she deems necessary, we'll head to Halifax, it is only 2 hours driving. Yesterday was long, left at 10 AM got here about 7:20, lost an hour to the time zone. We'll get it back on Thursday though.
My kids were born in Halifax, and i attended Dalhousie.

Check with other companies, and see who has the closest tower. The newer smart phones have the option of connecting through your wifi too. I have mine set to do both. When set for both, I can walk around the house when on a phone call, and I don't get dead spots that disconnect the calls.
At my house, Sprint works much better than ATT and Verizon. They use different frequencies and much aim the antenna differently.

We are not far from cell towers either

I agree with Ron worked at Boost back when it was a walkie talkie service after my life was changed but before I lost my vision so around 2000 ... Sprint bought Boost 350 of us where dumped but still have a Boost/Sprint service we live in whole go up either way to go somewhere they are able to access many towers

And up here you really only can choose between Verizon and ATT, and Verizon wins out in the access category. We are pretty used to dead spots, even here in town, due to the funky terrain and lack of towers in many areas. If you travel a lot Verizon has the benifit of having overall the best access I have found. There are some "off" brand companies that piggyback onto the national company towers, and they can have some very reasonable monthly plans as well.

It is a weird world!

For me, Sprint is better because it works at the house. I do not travel enough for the different network to be an issue.

We can't get ATT out here. The only 'wired' phone available is through Mark Twain Communications which handles a lot of the areas rural phone. We called around early on and were told by all the majors with the exception of Verizon and US cellular that we are so fringe where we live inspite of being able to see two distant towers that they couldn't guarantee us service. US Cellular was a joke. It would drop call like fall leaves. Verizon is a touch better but is still a pain in the pa-toot.

Just came in from outside. Had to put up a new sun shade for the birds as we have had high winds here for the past two days and the old one got shredded. Stopped by the orchard on the way back and discovered that something, probably with four hooves and antlers, ate every freaking peach off of very tree we have in the yard.:hitI have been checking them every other day and the last check they were just starting to have a little give to them. These are the wild variety of peach. Small as apricots but very sweet and make great jam which was what I was planning to do to them this year.:rant

Oh well, less work I have to do except to go out and gather pits to plant for next year's trees.
