I remember being in the hospital years ago and asking the nurse to please close the blinds (my bed was close to window) because my eyes couldn't take the bright light.

So she deliberately opened the blinds all the way.

Oh Diva! I would have gone to the hospital administrator!

Dr. Came in to tell me dh's surgery went well. However one side is still a bit closed more than the other.
He said he'd be back in the morning to talk to dh and see how his legs feel.
If his legs don't feel right he mad y need to do something else. IDK but this Dr is the best!

Cheryl said he goes in for the Second Surgery on Thursday.

Whenever my hubby has surgery, i wait as close to him as possible. Saved him from falling at least once( he passed out).

You sure have to be your own advocate in the hospital!

Or have a loved one/friend close at hand to advocate for you.

I finally found him after nearly 3 hours calling the operator and floor nurse.
When I came in he was groaning in pain! His his nurse came in and said.he should be pressing the button.
Dh said it was not working! After another 30 min. He told me his bed was wet. He said the button was not working again. Another lady came in and found his IV for pain meds was disconnected! So no he was not getting and pain mefs after surgery for over 2 hours! I was having a fit and wanted to rip someone's head off!
Now he has a dry bed and sleeping good.

The surgical nurse head came in to talk to me and apologize. She said they would do better Thursday.
I told her that we have never had a problem with this hospital before.
I'm just happy he's now sleeping pain free!

Can y'all believe this floor? We will be here another 7 days at least. How can we use this restroom?

I don't think it's been mopped it 10 years.

I could not go into surgery with him or I would have. I am very protective over my family.

Make sure she tells the hospital admin and the billing department why you aren't going to pay for the room for today. NON FUNCTIONAL call button? No one even wandered by to see how he was doing?

Chika, it's likely just old and stained. Get a spray bottle of Lysol and spray/wipe it down, along with all horizontal surfaces (tables, counters, furniture,etc), bathroom surfaces and doorknobs once daily. Regardless of whether they should be doing it or not, you'll feel better if it's done and you see it done.
When my dad was in the hospital I wouldn't let anybody in his room without them washing their hands with soap and water, including putting a note on the door saying so. I did not allow them to use hand sanitizer, as it is ineffective against viruses such as norovirus. "Sorry folks, we can't risk infection at this critical time."
And don't forget to wash your hands every time you leave the room and come back for any reason.
