Good luck, Cap, thinking of you.
Thanks! Snow so far...

:gig That is so funny!

Cables and connections are a very common cause of problems.

Similar story... DH was using the shop vac to detail my car and came in stating "It's broken. It suddenly stopped working." So out I went and flipped the button and -- yep -- dead as a doornail. Then checked the extension cord plug to the shop vac cord. Then checked to see if the extension cord had slipped out of the wall. Nope, hadn't slipped out BUT it was plugged into the thermo-cube for the automatic waterer and, being as it was a sunny day, shut itself off when the temp got warm enough. (DH had no idea what a thermo-cube was...Oops!)

I think I'm gonna have to buy some dry yeast, proper flour, and give some of these recipes a try. Ron and SCG have provided me inspiration.

Store the opened yeast container in the fridge.

May I recommend "Artisan Bread in 5 minutes a Day"?

That's what I use and it's got a great explanation. I don't use a baking stone, I use a cast iron pizza pan that we have, but I do have one of the long handled things to slide it into the oven onto the pan.

My Youngest DD told me the printer was not working. Turned out that the power button on the surge protector hand been pushed off by the vacuum cleaner!
