Am I the only one who has never had pickled eggs? I just can't imagine what it must be like.

No, I haven't had pickled eggs either. I'm just looking for something to do with so many eggs for storage. I turned off the lights a few weeks ago to let the girls rest. I've dropped from over 2 doz eggs a day to less than 1 dozen from the pullets. I needed a break too. LOL

One day I will be brave and try them. Sour pickles, dill pickles, bread and butter pickles, or sweet pickles, maybe they're all equally good.

Do the girls get crankier (picking on others, etc.) when they're allowed to rest or do they appreciate the vacation?

BF makes them... I refuse to eat them. He likes pickled banty eggs the best. Bite sized.

My girls free range all day, so that may effect any cranky reaction to being allowed to molt and rest. I don't know. I have a few cranky ones that visit the nest boxes, wicked peck every time I steal the eggs out from under them!! Anything after THAT is easy.
