Very, very, very sad news about our great friend @Latestarter. He died yesterday.

I have begun a tribute thread to Joe on a new thread, the base information is from a post on BYH made by another BYH member who knew him personally.

How's the neck this morning @bruceha2000?

I've been better but the ER nurse had warned me it would be worse today and tomorrow. Neck and upper back on the right side hurt, I have my soft collar on. Woke several times last night with sharp pains in my neck though I had taken the Flexeril before I went to bed. I have some Tylenol 3 left over from a few years ago, took one yesterday afternoon and another this morning. Not turning my neck and moving as little as is necessary.

A number of years ago there was a summer I had asked for people to go out and get me some of their local row by rows (a 12 inch "row" free pattern designed by local quilt shops to stack together and make a quilt). The theme was water and I loved almost all of the unique patterns I was seeing.
Latestarter made a weekend of it. Got on his motorcycle and went all around Colorado picking me up the patterns. The patterns are free, but the shops also sell fabric kits to go with their patterns.
Latestarter got both me and Dsqard a ton of kits. (To be clear, many other bycers went above and beyond and bought me a kit, too ).

We were so grateful we collaborated and made him a quilt out of them.

I am ashamed to say I still have some of his kits and others' kits that I haven't gotten to, yet.


After I finish this quilt I'm working on, I am going to get those out and make another quilt in his honor.

Be very careful make sure the hospital gives you pain meds or they can deny you had them

I didn't know the gentleman (Latestarters) personally but, have seen the name often. Did he have a spouse, children to send condolence cards too?

I remember him being excited that his Daughter had come out to visit. I think it was last summer or Fall
