The Old Folks Home

A quick update all good:

My sewing skills used to be good.... but now days the machine is gathering dust.

Toilets.... The one here in the front bathroom developed a leak. At first it was attributed to shower time No biggie. then it was constant... No sound from the toilet... Then I felt the underneath of the tank... All wet.

Plumber called out didnt nickel and dime us Said the Tank was cracked not fixable. So we or I ordered a new toilet. ADA certified and All one piece. It was $$$ But soo worth it. Old one had functional inadequacies, we had to keep the plunger on hand... I have only needed the plunger once since we got it...

He replaced everything including the water supply line... Our water is very hard... I dont drink it myself unless I have to...

and Yep Water here is also expensive. No outside watering now for over a year... Course the rain has now changed the yard back to green but its not grass. just wild things. They are blooming now pretty blue flowers... I suspect its Federee...

Chickens.... Soo want to get a few... But not here. I need to wait any way West Nile is rearing its ugly head of late

Need to move a major accumulation in the garage... and build my self a work shop I cant work inside the house any more... The goal is to Focus on jewelry making rather than food. More on that in another post

Here are the seeds ....

When they mature they dry up and split off the plant. Each of those seed pods contains i beliieve five seeds each with an amazing way to disperse and eventually plant themselves

Hopefully to Hawaii. Last night's mini storm caused over 244 cancellations and delays at Newark. What will be will be. We roll with the punches and have been known to make many 'Elaine and George's' great adventures out of adversity. :hmm
Keep us posted on either. We enjoy both beautiful pictures and funny stories

Looking so good. I'm about a third done quilting bigfoot .These quilts take a long time.

Not a quilt but dinner leftover pasta, peas, sesame and beef bone broth and yum desert shortcake, berries and whipped cream but drizzled caramel sauce on top

I should have had dinner there .I at least didn't microwave it last night but a frozen pasta primavera dinner isn't good either .

Nice update!

Wow, crazy day yesterdsy trying to get Lisa taken care of.
Can't like any of that.

I've decided I want to quilt more than I want a working toilet today.
No real rush when there are two others.

Don't (over)cook soy bacon in the microwave. Not even the dog would eat it.
Smart dog.

Getaclue's tip for the day: Don't EVER buy soy bacon. Don't try to cook it. Toss it in the trash, and go buy the real thing.
X2. Not a fan of "let's try to make something that is kinda sorta a little bit like (OK actually not at all much like) a known food" things.

Good morning. Basically no snow here all winter. 3" today and 3 - 6" tomorrow through Monday morning when we go to the airport. I know, I know not that much, but around here who can guess the impact ?
6" of snow down there can really screw airline schedules. Hopefully you didn't get affected.

Very cool, I wonder what makes it 'decide' to tighten or release the spiral. It did that multiple times.
