The Old Folks Home

Our house is comfortable I wipe counters 6 times a day do my dishes if I cook as I go
but grew up with a Ma that supported the family Dad was a mailman, Ma would say part time job but full time paycheck he was home allot I worked the farm with Dad so did Ma
my Brother did when he was asked my half sister sat inside split her tight jeans on a horse would not ride again
I hear ya Penny. Dad worked, mom was a stay at home mom until dad hurt his back and then she worked until he could again. She canned all the food we ate and when I was old enough help I did. I don't know how many summer afternoons were spent snapping beans and peeling blanched tomatoes. We pulled our weight.

Yeah, I have a pan of soapy water with a tablespoon of bleach in it sitting in the sink. Wipe down countertops 4 times a day if not more often. Not a compulsive cleaner by a long shot. Just share the house with 5 cats that know better than to get on the counters when I'm around but always have smug looks on their faces when I come inside.:barnie

There was always a war the man I call Dad was there from when I was 4 so did not know another us kids just 18 months apart but they always said "your not my Dad" I would hide from that he told be be what you want to you do not need to fit in someone else box
I was taught to work like most of us

I always liked the Erma Bombeck line of thought. If a person comes to your door unannounced to visit, they deserve whatever mess they walk into.

My own personal favorite is, hey, forgive the mess but we live here!

I've often gone to a friend's home (announced) and they have apologized for the 'mess'. I've always shrugged and told them I came over to see them, not their house and since I have no intentions of cleaning it for them, pour the coffee, sit down and relax!

I've been in my share of sterile homes. I had a plaque that didn't survive moving that read "My house is clean enough to be healthy and dirty enough to be happy'.

Going to have to try and find a replacement for it.

Ok, cleaned a few hours and almost back to our baseline level of filth. Some areas are very nice and clean, and then the side of the living room/kitchen with the brooder in it I still need to dust after I get the brooder out of there. i need to vacuum and then mop everywhere, but pretty much everything else is done. I also need to clean the windows but it's still too cold for that. Last time I did that the windex I sprayed on froze immediately.

Miss Piggy did not like her new apartment-mates.

I had a late afternoon doctor's appointment. I have a minor upper respiratory infection, and bronchitis. He put me on antibiotics, a decongestant, and prednisone. When I got the prednisone, I laughed. It's 20mg. No way am I taking that much prednisone this late. I wouldn't sleep for a week. I have a bottle of 5 mg., and a bottle of 10 mg. I started with 5mg. Maybe tomorrow when I wake up, I'll take the 20mg, but not tonight.

They are called click warmers.
I have some cheap and some high quality versions of those. Some sort of salt in the water that stays in liquid form when boiled and stays that way until "shocked" by the metal disk being "clicked". They don't stay warm as long as the chemical ones and are bigger but I really like the reusable aspect.

What do you recommend and why?
That he get a replacement body, the man is a mess!! High blood pressure, cancer, diabetic, seizures. Holy cow!
