The Old Folks Home

Our turkey in the Big Green Egg was a hit. Thanks, Byron, for the directions.

She had more meat on her breast than I thought she would during the butchering. All in all, I was quite pleased for not having had turkey in 13 years.

Great I am glad yours turned out well. Mine was fantastic. I love my egg. Use their directions for the perfect steak and it will be better than any steak house.

Puppy sounds going on here. We had puppies! Mom is ours, A Golden Retriever. Dad is pure Standard Poodle. My Golden has white on her..yes, she is pure. Happens once in a while, we didn't mind, so took her. She's a love. She had 7 pups, one was still born, so 6 babies. 4 girls, 2 boys. I am sure glad she didn't have them in the middle of the night. She had her first around 5:30, and her last around 8:45. Good girl.

No golden colors! There are 4 blacks. Two boys two girls. Then there is a chocolate color,
then a light silvery brown color. Very pretty. Will be fun to see which ones get the curlier coats.

She's tuckered, I'm tuckered. Even though she did all the work..mostly. Had to break a few
bags of water. She did good. Fast too.

I am exhausted just looking at them!

How Cute!

love the chocolate one and the silvery one - what will they be called Retrieve-adoodles or ???? Do you think many will have curly hair. I used to trim poodles , etc. retired for many years, but itching to pick up a clipper & do them. When we had pups (I used to break all the sacs) - I was already trimming the muzzle up to the stop at 10 days old to check the heads.

Will you dock tails like a poodle or leave them long? Sorry for all the questions - haven't had puppies since Nov. 1980 - miss the babies. But excited over yours. At least she only had 2 cockerels-

Yes, only two cockerals..lol..I actually prefer the male dogs. Always have. Not sure why, Missy is a sweetheart.
They are called Goldendoodle because of how they were bred. She was bred only to the Poodle. Nope, no docking the tails. They stay long. Can't tell yet how many will have the curly coat. One is already looking curly, so we know that one will. These are called F1 Goldendoodles. Because it's the first breeding of each..breed.. Some folks have two Goldendoodles, breed them. They are of course..F2's. And, then there are different ones that I didn't keep up with. These will not shed as bad as a full bred Golden Retriever. That's the the thing that folks like about them. Even less shedding with the mom and dad already a Goldendoodle.

Some info on these dogs. Goldendoodles are obedient and highly intelligent family pets. They are devoted the their family and are everyone's friend. They are very social animals enjoying children, other dogs and most pets in general. Goldendoodles can be very laid back, yet love to run and play and some require a moderate amount of excercise. If left alone for long periods of time goldendoodles can become mischievous and destructive and entertain themselves by doing such things as digging up mom's gardens!
Goldendoodles are very easy to train and most often are the head of the class in puppy school.

A couple of cute photos I found. One is chocolate, one is a white..the one I thought to be silvery, is a cream colored one! Here is the chocolate...

A black

A white. This white one has less curl .. the other two above
have the curlier going on.
