The Old Folks Home

Whoa those trees were torn up!

Glad you were safe and even more glad you have some firewood. I burn everything I can get my hands on, even pine. I find pine starts fires very well.

We've got that blustery wind right now, started about 12 hours ago. Hope nothing comes down.

I got 2 more nicu quilts finished today (I had plugged away at the tops and got them done last weekend, and quilted and bound them today). I hit my goal of 10 quilts to have for the nicu, but i think i will do a few more. I still have a plethora of scrap fabric and I found what I think is a super cute pattern for a valentines pillow that is 20x20 which coincidentally is the perfect size for a nicu blanket and only uses 2.5 inch squares. I will work on that one, next, and also try and work on my frog row for my row by row quilt.

next weekend i've got a board meeting. i ended up getting nominated to be on the board of an association and apparently i was chosen, despite never having attended an actual meeting of said association and generally not being a friendly human being towards strangers. ive made a few events, so maybe that was why. i was also elected director of said board for 2021 so i figure i ought to start attending meetings.

that's going to cut into my quilting time, but that's probably good for me to get out of the house and away from my loved ones.

Lovely! So nice of you to do!

We had 3 large live pine trees tip over!
Live? Don't live pines have needles year round?

Um, nominated and named to the board, then elected to be the director in 2 years in absentia?

Seems pretty sketchy to me. Shouldn't the current director of the board ASK you if you would like to be on the board? And shouldn't they find out if you have the actual skills and desire to be the director in 2 years even though the board members now may not be on the board next year when the future year director SHOULD be elected?

Clearly I do not understand such things.

Yes, the pines have needles only on about the top third of the tree. Weird trees.

The parents are going love those!
...the kids will too when they get old enough.
It is great that you use your talent for such a worthy cause.

I don't get it either, trust me.

I know I have the skills to do it (been a supervisor at work for longer than i would care to discuss) but I am already tapped for time and energy. I will do the best job I can do.
Can’t you just decline the nomination?
