The Old Folks Home

Ron's right. You can't just have one (right now, we have 8)!

It's funny. We took in a stray that swiftly gifted us with a litter of kittens. The idea has always been to re-home them, but several months later, they are all still here. Yesterday, Hubby saw a Craigslist ad where someone was looking for kittens/young cats, and he called them. He said, "After about a 5 minute conversation, I hung up on them. It was absolute pandemonium in the background. I was thinking, "no way am I going to subject these sweet little guys to that!" All that young feline energy goes rough on our nerves (and house) sometimes, but it seems there's a coyote pack that are decimating the local cat population right now, so sending them outside to burn off that energy isn't a popular option, either.

We only have 7 here. The momma to 3 of them gave birth somewhere else and was sneaking the last little one into my workshop the 1st time I ever seen her. I chased her off thinking it was her 1st go at moving in, it wasn't. About 1/2 hour later I seen her walking out of my doorway without anything in her mouth and knew I had been moved in on. The 4 of them are still here eating all they can.

We had 4 but now have 3. One is living with the egg farmer that keeps my Roosters. They are all neutered or spayed.

You only have one cat?

I think you need at least one more.
I would love more than one, but Daisy gets really nervous when we introduce anything new into her environment...especially animals. Except chickens. She never barks at the chickens, doesn't run from them - even lets the babies run all over her. We have to supervise when the babies are out so that she doesn't accidently step on one. She weighs close to 150. Maybe when she passes away...but at her age I don't want to stress her overmuch.
She definately has that Scooby Doo cowardly act down.

We do have a sewing machine. I used to belong to DH's Grandmother. When it's not open it looks like an end table and I keep the printer on it.
I would like to try some curtains. Those shoule be fairly easy, right? We just have blinds on the windows and I would love some nice curtains.

Oz...you and the Mrs. Oz are great parents and I will be praying you get the Christmas presnts you deserve and it gets made official. But we must have more pics of those adorable little ones. Funny thing, every time I see the Corona commercial where the palm tree lights up with Christmas lights I think of you guys.
You can do it tnspur. Once you get the machine out, go over the instruction book and familiarize yourself with it. Learn how to set the machine up, wind a bobbin, do reverse stitching. Then make some straight stitches! Remember when you learned to drive a car? I bet you can do that in your sleep now. Or ride a bike? Same thing.

Now get in there and dust that machine off!! You can do it!!

I own my own machine - and overlocker. I have been known to whip the odd design into life.

Quote: Long ago before I had children I adopted more cats than I can remember. All spayed and neutered. Had a couple vets that were helpful, giving me employee rates. I finally wised up-- I don't adopt them anymore. We still have the last 2 that we took on 10-12 years ago. THey run the house.

Quote: Make sure your little ones get to see you Oz-- then find the little books to sew. Pages from childrens magazines designed to be removed an folded into a 8 pg story. I let the kids push the presser foot, then handed them their book. I want to try a backpack over school break if homework will allow.

I'm still looking for a new doggie to add to our family. ANd while reviewing some 5000 dogs in shelters here in MAss , here is one cutie that I just love. Thought I would share a little cuteness.

"Happy is a 7 week old Catahoula Leopard/Lab puppy who currently weighs approximately 8lbs."
