The Old Folks Home

Great news @perchie.girl!!

I guess I’m not really old but I just sometimes feel like it when a lot of the people I talk to or meet now are younger than me when they used to be all be older or when I see how long ago certain songs or movies or something were released and I’m like dang it was THAT long ago!?
We watched the Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella (1957 with Julie Andrews) last night. Cinderella was broadcast live, I was just over 1 year old and no I do not remember it, probably didn't have a TV anyway. I recognized the step sisters: Alice Ghostley and Kaye Ballard. I remember them from the TV shows they were in 1960's .... first run. Look them up, you aren't old but I am!

@KDOGG331 you just wait girl. One day somebody will walk up to you that is younger and it will be your birthday. When you tell them how old you are they will look at you and say 'Whow! You're older than my mom and Dad are'.

Then you will feel old.
Oh that one is fun! :gigLet's dredge up a few more "milestones"

@perchie.girl :clap:clap:celebrate:celebrate:clap:clap! I am so happy for you! I knew you could do it!

@superchemicalgirl I forgot to mention earlier how beautiful that pillow is.Your quilting patterns are exquisite and I enjoy studying them as much as I enjoy your finished projects.

Just got the good word that Sidney is doing great. Uneventful and routine. She gets to come home tomorrow morning.

Oh wow that is an old movie.

And I can’t wait for that one :lau

Does having literal children seat you count as a milestone or feeling old?? :lau the hosts at this restaurant look about 12 lol okay not really but definitely like high school or something. Total baby faces and I don’t even think they have facial hair yet haha made me feel old :lau

someone remarked that at 71 I was old enough to be their mother or grandmother. That would mean I was 12 when giving birth, so surely not a grandma either. In 4 months they will be 60- nothing wrong with that either.

Another one that happened to me was one winter while I was still in my 30s, I was out shoveling my parent's drive way for them and suddenly three teenagers baring shovels came up to me and told me to take a break, they were going to finish my driveway for me. When I thanked them and offered to pay them they said 'No Ma'am, our mom would kill us if we didn' stop and help an old person out'. I mean geesh, come on guys I was only in my late 30s at the time.

I also started feeling old when all of my doctors were youngr than I am. Now I feel lucky if I can find one that is about the same age and still practicing.

Rain/storms here this morning but we got our girl home. She didn't perk up until we pulled into the driveway then it was like "OH! HOME! LET ME OUT OF THE CAR!"

@drumstickdiva, you are still a kid!

Having kids made me feel young.

:idunno

Having the kids grow up makes me feel old.

Having all of the relatives older than me die.... that makes me feel old..... or I guess middle aged.
Yep, getting older is an adventure!
