Welcome! I just slid to 51 . . . now I feel old . . . . time to sign up for AARP, lol

Ya know, since the new site came into play I haven't bounced around as much. I had never seen this thread till just now. You got room for one more old lady here?

Speaking of hatches -- Which, if any, are you all planning to participate in? I did Mahonri's Easter Hatch and ChooksChick's Cinco de Mayo Hatch last year. I really don't need any more roosters (just found a home.....or freezer camp) for my extras last night. I thought I might try some turkeys and guineas (for someone else) because I just love to hatch eggs.

I love the hatching process too.

I'm hoping my BR turkeys will be laying by then--lights if I can set lights up; and maybe some of the younger turkey varieties too. NOt sure as they hatched Aug 23 if they will be laying in time. Definitely want to hatch some BCM-- NOT hatching more ducks--

I have decided that because of the number of males I would rather hatchout meat type birds, or dual purpose birds.

Now if I don't lose this thread. I'm not getting email from this site and I've tried to fix that. We'll see if it starts up again.

Dec 16 I became officially an old fart! I have my first GREAT grandbaby. Lots of possibiliies for more eventually with 28 grandkids. LOL

I'm eggless and have been since the first week of November. I keep saying I'm going to add lights out there, but after 2 years it still hasn't happened. Not sure it's a good idea since the houses around here have old wiring and if I plug in a small heater I have to go out and flip the curcuit breakers.

Arielle I've been in on a lot of the Mahonri hatches, but I think only one since this new platform. Must have been Easter....My last hatch was as bad as my group hatches. Got ZERO! It was the last of the eggs my girls gave me. I'm thinking that next month i'm going to take my Sportsman in and see if it's the machine or me. I started the Chinese New Years hatch last year. I guess if I want to do another one I better check all the incubators and I'll no doubt have to order eggs. I want to be good this time and not buy everything I see, but that's soooooo hard for me. Right now I'm trying to get rabbits to kindle. I bred 6 and not one litter of babies, so I'm going to try again as soon as I have time. Other than take, my next project is trying to find a place for all the Christmas gifts. I can barely walk in my livingroom and there was already too much. Also, my daughter and I bought puppies I'm working with so we can place them in good homes. We call them our Stud fee pups, but they are really puppies that a family was selling and when I saw the types of people buying them, I had to rescue at least one and work on a decent home for him. Got home and my daughter and I scronged up enough to buy one more. They're little Pitties and I've trained and shown for most of my life and I love the breed, just don't like how many get bred and who they go to, so I've temperment tested and they are almost housebroken. Got them Christmas Eve and then we were gone all day Christmas and most of the next day, so I'm working with them all day today and until they get it down. Pretty smart little guys, so hopefully I can keep my 2 day average down for this. In the meantime, I'll do some other work with them and look for the appropriate homes. One is a little drivey, so I want to place him with someone who has time for extensive training and the other is a laid back mellow little guy, so as long as someone is willing to make sure they do train him, he should be no problem. I need to make sure these guys are well behaved and socialized and that it continues their whole lives, so that's my project, to find the best homes possible and make sure they have good lives.

OK, time to catch up on some other threads. So glad there's a place where I don't feel like everyone grandmother. LOL I was starting to feel real old and not able to really get in on conversations. Then again, I still don't know what I wanna be when I grow up, so I do like reading those threads.

Okay. <*deep breath*>. I'm gonna join y'all "in here" finally. I still have 47 pages left to read before I get to the current date, but if I wait until I get there, it will be another chunk o' time before I "appear" so I'm doing it now.

Most of my fav BYCers are here, anyway... (Thanks for the invitation, so long ago, Wisher.... I wasn't ignoring or snubbing it, just procrastinating at sloth-like speed.)
