The Old Folks Home

Oh lord, I see all those waist lines expanding.

The hardest "Look at, Savor then walk away" for me is any type of Chocolate

I mean I have been to CA meetings, the shock you each time you taste one, chocolate covered yuckies, anything to break my chocolate cravings...

I win more than lose but that is still my main weakness. i have it under control, but, even I break down sometimes
and get some type of chocolate once in awhile.

Chocolate cake, pie, cookies, bars, ice cream, brownies, etc.... I do love me some chocolate....

When I do get the missus a box of sweets etc, the first thing I tell her to do is hide them. and she does, she knows I can smell a piece of chocolate a mile away.

Plus, you do NOT want to see me on a chocolate high!!!!

I wish I could walk away.

Right now I am out of everything chocolate except the choc.malt Ovaltine. Out of milk so I'm eating it from the jar dry. That is sad. I used to pour hershey syrup into a jar of crunchy peanut butter and devour that. I'm not proud, it's too bad my brain can't find something honorable to do. Between my cravings, disregard for portion control and Lipitor (which raises blood sugar)., I am prediabetic at 65. Should know lots better - my brother has had diabetes since early college days. I know what he has to go thru and he is very disciplined.

Maybe a shock collar is what I should have

I have my spoon in my tub o' chocolate frosting, right there wit'cha. Snarf.

my favorites Dove milk chocolate bar, Hersheys chocolate symphony bar, Nutella (choc.hazelnut spread) and Haagen Daz Rocky road ice cream. About the only chocolate I don't like is the healthy dark kind. My mom used to love even the unsweetened dark baking chocolate - ugh. I guess she was before her time. I barely tolerate semi-sweet morsels.

We could be twins. Although the Symphony bar needs to be the one with Toffee. I also love the Chunky bars with raisins but they are so hard to find up here. Oh and Reeses PB cups. I just made 60 PB cups in pb cookies in a small cupcake tin for work Friday. Still have a few left. Think I'll have them for breakfast.

Got my apron almost finished last night, just have to put the pockets on today. I need to make one for work for our oral liquid compounding area. We usually end up wearing some of the drugs. But I still can't find the right material. It has to be epic. I think that's the only reason I like sewing (customization) - the apron I made for myself last night has skulls and barbed wire on it - I'm not going to find that anywhere else.

Well set (not sit tick) 22 eggs yesterday for my "test" hatch. That was all that I could gather in a week. The girls are really starting to pick up now. It must be the amount of sunlight they are getting because it doesn't feel anything like spring out there. It is not getting into the bitter cold temps but we got snow off and on yesterday and there is more predicted for today. Worked all day long yesterday on a "team" paper for my college class. Every class we have for the BS degree I am working on has "learning teams". Might as well call them "slacker/workhorse teams" because it seems either the team members are one or the other. I am so fortunate to have a team of slackers this time

I have shared my concerns with this program with my advisor but I don't have a lot of hope that it will get better. On the school's "social" site there are the same complaints I sent to my advisor from years ago. If I can make it through the next year without going postal, I am definitely not using the same school for the masters. I am going to research online schools much more thoroughly before signing up. I figure learning teams is how this school gets a higher graduation rate. That is wrong IMO. OK rant over. DH and I went to Cold Stone last night because I felt I had earned some good ice cream.

I got orange creamsickle with mini chockolate chips mixed in. Totally against my diet but so worth the calories after all the frustration my "team" put me through. :)

Chocolate-- I dumped Hersey's long ago, Only live once so buy the best. I always have chocolate on hand. I recently found, was given actually, a low carb chocolate cake for 1 recipe. Cooks in microwave in about 2 minutes. Nothing like a warm, moist chocolate cake. yumm.

Me, too -- can't eat Hershey's any more. Lindors and Lindt are wonderful. I don't have any chocolate in the house, though. I'm supposed to be on a diet.

Speaking of chocolate, here's a good little recipe for a small, quick pie:

FUDGE PIE

1 stick butter (not margarine)
1 cup sugar
2 squares unsweetened chocolate (no substitutes)
¼ cup plain flour
2 eggs
pinch salt

Melt butter and chocolate together over warm water. Beat eggs in a bowl; gradually blend in sugar. Add flour and a pinch of salt. Then combine with chocolate mixture. Pour into a greased 8-inch glass pie plate and bake at 350 for 20 to 25 minutes. Serve warm with whipping cream or ice cream. This makes a small pie and freezes well.

I didn't like these groups either. When I was able we to choose I always picked slackers. That way I could just do it how I wanted and never heard a complaint.

All I need is the chocolate and I could be making this right now.
