The Old Folks Home

SCG..I am going to start some herb seeds..in pots. Then when it warms up enough for the young plants, will put them out doors. I planted some mint one year, in the garden. That stuff spread all over the place! Couldn't get rid of it. In a pot this year.

Sometimes when I go to bed at 4 or 5 am, I put clothes on for the day, so if my sleep is interrupted by someone at least I'm sorta presentable. Really hard to find a pillow that fits a head like mine.LOL

Yeah, I'm actually terrified of the dill I bought. That is NOT going in my garden. I have heard horror stories from others about it taking over. Has anyone planted it as a weed? I have some rocks on a hill on one side of my property, and I can't mow it. It gets some amazingly tall weeds (the goats love it), but I was thinking of letting it take over there. I only need a few plants for when I can pickles, so it can spread and the goats can eat it... and I can take what I want. Wonder if that will work?

You guys going to bed at 4-5 am!

We are exact opposites.

And welcome, Omaeve! My parents are in Mineral.

SCG my grandmother used to grow her own dill for the polish pickles she made (

) She didn't seem to have any problems with it taking over the garden and they only had about 1/2 acre area for the whole garden. Never heard of dill taking over but I don't grow my own veggies.

it is me or does the site seem to be loading slow today???

I mean, I am having dial up flash backs trying to load the forum. I even think I hear the old dial up noise....

all other sites load normal, just This one seems slow...

Except for that, a brisk cold windy day here. I can handle the heat, rain, snow and even normal cold but that brisk, cold wind just takes it out of me...
Seems to get through my clothes and to my skin. Burrrrrrrr....

.

Lucky the chickens and the other animals still have their winter coats....
I have mine but it seems to have leaks in it..

sheesh...

My alarm goes off at 5AM M-F and I'm at work by 6AM...I really get tired of this schedule in the winter but love it in the summer cuz I'm outside in the sunlight for longer hours!
Me too Noncentzter. I can't hardly make it past 9pm with my eyelids in the open position.

I am getting right tired of snow now...we are supposed to get a few more inches tonight and tomorrow. Then the crazy weather is supposed to be in the 40's on Friday, Saturday, & Sunday....that will be a heat wave around here.
