The Old Folks Home

ONE of my 4 children "invited" me to come live with her family. I declined.
I told her that I hated Phoenix, AZ area ---too danged HOT ( I lived there for 3 years almost 50 years ago.)
...and it was crowded even back THEN !

I'm content to live here almost ALONE with my Boxer-Dog and Chickens.
When I can't live here at home anymore (by myself)....maybe I'll go "Deep-Sea Fishing" again.....
....and THAT TIME.....let the FISH win.
I ain't interested in living in some danged apartment building with a bunch of OLD, SICK PEOPLE who are as
onnery as I am !!! THAT would be real H E ( 2 hockey-sticks ) !!!

I spent enough time around people during my "working-life" that I think I've seen ( mostly ) enough of them. I've paid my dues.
AND...I'm getting CRABBIER every day ! Ha-Ha !!!
But I DO have some friends with whom I visit occasionally. BUT....I enjoy the Peace and Quiet here at "Dottie's Farm".

I DO wish I had kept Dottie's "mobility scooter" when she passed-away...........
I could chase my Neighbor's MANY cats with it !!! ( The neighbors usually call the Gub-Mint when MY Boxer-Dog ( "Crockett" ) chases THEIR cats out of MY yard. )

Yep. THAT would be FUN ! ( I might even accidentally lose control of that scooter and run-over my Neighbor !!! WHAT FUN !!! )

I like your way of thinking.. you have cats too..ugh! They get into my vegetable garden! I also have dogs that come by..with their owners walking them, and they let them poop in my yard. They think they are being sneaky, letting them go behind some big ceder trees I planted years ago, big, but not big enough yet for me to see them stop.

Never had eggs Benedict but have always wanted to looks really good!

very few places serve them and even less do it right but when you can find that certain place, Eggs Benedict is to die for. if I have a choice, my last meal would look like that picture.
mmmm, good...

My sweet darling kids always joked or maybe not about how when their Mothers and I get old, we all were going to the same Old folks home with me in the room between them. Now do they hate me or their Mothers. I think, I would have the most fun, tormenting them them and just ignoring them. I always could get them going.
laughs.

But now I am far from the kids and ex's and figure that one day, someone will or not see me laying in the yard face down with the cats, dogs, chickens and maybe horse just hanging around me, waiting for me to get up and feed them....

really I could not think of a better way to go...

Sorry, Tick, the chickens wouldn't be waiting...........
That was MY first thought, too!

I had never had Eggs Benedict either until November, 2007 (I was 54 that year) when some friends took me to the Freeport Inn Restaurant. It was on the menu.... they were buying..... I ordered it. Wow.

Then I was taken to Glenn & Marlene's Dead Fly Diner by some other friends and saw the MULTIPLE versions listed. Tried the traditional and have ordered a different one each time I eat there. The diner is only open until 3 PM so I didn't get to eat there often until I retired last year. Still don't go that often, usually with friends. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays, now. Yesterday was the first time I ate there by myself. Not alone at all; it's a place where no one looks askance if you join their conversations.

I fixed my kids but good. Since they had both moved away from home and husband and parents have since passed on, I bought the 10 acres next to my younger son, built a house that will accommodate a wheelchair, when the times comes, and he set me up with a security system and a push-to-talk button for when I need help, also in the future. We can go a week and not talk. It's good for him and good for me. And because we live close to where all my family, cousins, are located, I still have a social life. Chickens help, they need me. Can I share? I had a 6-egg-day yesterday, out of 8 pullets. Just like having kids, without the pain.

Acutally Linda the Predator drone might be a little too big for backyard activities

Just sayin'

Yes Predator is the actual name for this "drone" If you really want to be correct, they are not called drones, they are called UAS's. I get to see these take off just about every weekday.
I want one of these!

Ok, Egg Benedict is my favorite!!!!!!!!! I don't know if I'd like them different from the regular way, but I love them. I really don't eat eggs that much, but I could eat those any time of the day or night!

Well, meeting with my son has not happened 3 different times now. He's been back a month, I haven't sen him except on Skype? once and he mentioned i looked like my mom. That part being said, I've mentioned elsewhere I'll be taking donations for some much needed surgeries! hehe So he is the only one of my kids who hasn't been to Disneyland or any Disney and neither have I. My grand daughter has cheer comps in LA this weekend so I'm flying down too and sunday my son and his girl friend, my daughter and grand daughter and myself are all going.

I"M GOING TO DISNEYLAND!!!

Nervous, excited and worried I'm so out of shape, I won't be able to keep up, but I'm gonna try.

Have a good weekend everyone. Gonna go see my baby for the first time in 7 years!

I haven't booked my flight home yet but I'm wondering if this is the next size down from the cessna. I bet thats what expedia has in store for me next. I think they are trying to give me a nice memorable trip and possibly a stroke. The jackrabbit roadside assistance requirement was a nice touch today.

Quote: You should go get some of those water 'scarecrow' sprinklers that spray randomly. Or just hang out where the cats come around with a good sprayer on your hose...perhaps with a bit of food coloring. If the cats go home colored, then the neighbors owe you an apology. At least that's the way I see it. I had to train the cats that one neighbor has- only cats I've ever seen that weren't scare witless of the chickens...I should have just let the cats give the chickens a whirl. I wouldn't have been surprised if that would've been a better deterrent than my arm waving and shrieking...
