The Old Folks Home

My muscovy roam more than my turkeys. Escaped turkeys head for my house. The DUcks go everywhere, fly all over too. Turkeys generally are easier to pen up unless it is the roosting hour.

Thank You!

They are great chicks. I already have Basque hens and am looking forward to seeing what the Pita Pintas are like when they grow up.

Be your enema

No, thanks. I can make you some, though. I compound a nice short chain fatty acid enema. The lactulose enema is also a nice lime green. Would be like a reverse mojito in this heat.

they take up the same space but ducks poop is something to behold (or not)

Actually, I love the duck poop. I don't love the (often loud) act of duck pooping, but their poo water is an awesome addition to my garden.

Ah, yes, I found Alice's chick, safe in the coop. Sister 2 has adopted it without even going broody. Sister 1 and Monica are co-raising a chick and a duckling. Buffy has two chicks. One of the Penelopes has two chicks. These are the babies; there are 13 older chicks hatched and raised by a couple of Penelopes who have cut them loose. Then there are the 16 Easter Hatch youngsters, and the 5 CincoDe Mayo "tutor" chicks.

The duck who hatched two ducklings is only raising one, today. :(

And I thought my chickens were weird for not roosting in the same place each night. Yours are playing musical Mothers.

Bye the way, one of the Marans OEs and a Partridge Rock were on a completely different roost last night.
