That one came from Chiquita. She is a Marans crossed with a black EE.

They lay amazing eggs.

I am really anxious to see eggs from the chicks hatched from my eggs, none of them are laying yet that I know of, but you and SCG had the first of them.

They are great chicks. I already have Basque hens and am looking forward to seeing what the Pita Pintas are like when they grow up.

No, thanks. I can make you some, though. I compound a nice short chain fatty acid enema. The lactulose enema is also a nice lime green. Would be like a reverse mojito in this heat.

Actually, I love the duck poop. I don't love the (often loud) act of duck pooping, but their poo water is an awesome addition to my garden.

The sound and poop does not bother me. They mainly poop in their water and with a good pump it goes straight to my garden. Now Geese poop like a dang Rotty!

Speaking of duck poop. I have been thinking of putting a kiddie pool, with a drain and hose, just uphill from my garden so that the duck water that comes out every two or three days can go into the garden. I clean the pool and water the garden every few days, why not do them at the same time? Does anyone else have this arrangement?

Wisher I have a small kiddie pool for my three babies and every other day (cause they poop and its hot

) I put a water fountain pump and hose attached in the pool, turn it on and run the hose to my garden. By the time it gets to low for the pump it is low enough to lift up and dump all that good poopy into my garden. What you have going sounds like a great idea tho! My chicken coop is below my garden so I have to pump it.

Kasey, An Olive Egger is a cross between a dark egg layer like a Marans, and a blue egg layer like an Ameraucana. The resulting hens lay an egg that is olive green. It's kinda' weird, but looks great in the egg basket!


I'm thinking of planning the location of the garden and duck pen to make it easier. Could you relocate the garden to put it downhill from the coop?

AWWW!!! With all I am learning about these chickens I think I need a couple new pens! LOL I am sure my Husband is going to love that!
