The Old Folks Home

BunnyMomma, the color pattern on your cute little birdies looks like Red Pyle; what else besides Silkie is in them?
Thanks Bunnylady! There is no Red Pyle in them, but I keep all my project recipes under wraps. I am really excited about the colors coming out on them. I have been working on improving the colors for a while and so far I like what I am seeing. I will try to get some photos that are a bit more clear so that you can see the true color variations on them.
I hope you like them!

Bunny, those babies are too darn cute. That roos face has to be one of the sweetest little boy roo faces I've seen! Love the coloring!

Oh Thank you! I am in love with them. Sir D does have the sweetest face and a personality to go with it. I will try to get some better photos so that you can see his big brown eyes. He almost looks like he has eyelashes!

He has become one of my favorite boys.
I am glad that you like them! I am really enjoying them.

Hey, I wanted to share one of my project birds with you all! I have been working on this project for 3 years. I call them "American Silkie Flowers"
This is a photo of my little rooster "Sir Dahlia" and one of my little hens "Lemon Blossom" They are very small and weigh less than a pound. The hens have little pea combs and the roo's have small straight combs. I wish you could see them in person. They are so sweet!
I am always working on genetic project birds. It is just a hobby of mine. The photos are not the best, I took them with my i phone.

I want one!!!!

LOVE the pic of the roo-- nicely set up!!!

How kind of you! I do need to get some better photos. I think the camera lens on my i phone was blurred by the humidity on that first pic, or else there was not enough light. The pics do not do him justice. It has been raining and raining and it is so hard to get good photos when the weather is so crazy. In fact we are getting ready to have another huge storm. I keep reminding myself that autumn is just around the corner. I have never seen so much rain!

I hope to have some hatching eggs for sale this coming spring, if nothing happens. I want to build up my flock this fall so that I will have plenty of eggs.
PM me if you want eggs this spring and I will keep you on the list.

Hi, Thanks! These are the 5th generation. I have some eggs in the incubator and the girls are laying faithfully right now. I am just popping those little eggies into the bator every day. I will post some photos of the babies when they hatch. They are tiny and cute! I swear I almost came close to selling all of my Silkies and focusing on just the Silkie Flowers! It is hard to give up a breed. I've been trying to estabilish a Paint silkie flock since last year, but so far, all I have hatched from my shipped eggs are roosters! I just ordered some more Paint eggs this weekend, and if I don't get any pullets this time, I am giving them up!

Bunny momma Wow they are gorgeous! I have not even been interested in any of the small or bantam chickens! But I think I would have to hold and hug those babies!!!!
