The Old Folks Home

Thanks! He made the sauce, too. The crust was really easy to make, but it didn't come out of the bag like your directions say. I had to split the bag at the seams and scrape the dough out. Do you spray the bag first with oil?

Did I make it sound too easy? No I don't spray the bag but I do reach in and help it out. A bit stiffer dough will make it come out of the bag easier but the crust will not be as crisp when it is baked.

You made Fresh Mozzarella too right? I plan on trying that next Friday. What type of sauce did He make?

Yes, the mozzarella was what I made on Thursday. I used the softer of the two recipes. Have you ever made it before? I was surprised how easy it was when I first saw it made.

I'll see if I can get him to part with his sauce recipe. It's really easy, he just adds a few things to a can of tomato paste.

Yes, it holds goats. Quite well.

And Ron... your crust was wonderful. Thank you for sharing it (again). We froze the other crust for future use, but I don't think it's going to be frozen for long. I'm stuffed.

****, now I have to order pizza for dinner

not goat pizza though

I noticed a lot of electro-fencing on properties around the one I was considering. Horse country, Leedy explained. Barbed wire is a no-no to Horse People, she said.

It works with chickens? Hmm.

I LIKE that pen, SCG! It holds goats, huh?

Arielle, in order to lowball the asking price, we're going to write in that *I* will arrange for the trash clean-up. Save the elderly owners some money at one end, shave off some of the offered price.

The hoarder in me kinda wants to go through the stuff, anyway.

My contractor often does property clean-up for the brokers, as well as repairs and construction. He's done dump runs for me on occasion, as well as having built all the cool stuff I've added to my current home. I talked to him today, warning him I will have work for him until the day he dies.

NO barbed wire with horesNONE no-no-no!

I used electronetting on a mowed field. Need to be low enough to not short the power. Talking with a pig person, he said disconnect the lowest wires ( because pigs root and dump soil/matter onthe lowest wire sometimes. DH is very good at testing using a long blade of fresh grass. If he could feel the vibrations, the power was good enough.

The recipe says you can use store milk with mixed results, but you have to find something that isn't ultra-pasteurized. That will NOT set. You'll also have to add calcium chloride to all store milk which will help it set.

There is an alternate recipe that uses nonfat dry milk and cream, for people who can't locate milk that isn't ultra-pasteurized, but it sounds disgusting.

Believe it or not, we built our fence. It's moveable. However... they don't usually get out. When Pip was really small she could get out between the panels in one spot, but I put a big rock there to block her way and that stopped. That was the only escape we've had that wasn't intentional. This is what we did, it's 4 feet tall. There's an eye hook and clip at each of the horizontal junctures of 2x4.

SCG I love you pen! That is a great idea!
