You have your hands full, but you will do fine. Many years ago my children were forced, due to circumstances beyond my control, to pull their weight at a young age. Surprizingly, kids can do more than we think -- you know them, and know what they can truely do to help you like house work, cooking, laundry, etc. House keeping is not as important as your studies.Glad to see everyone is doing great. Linda: sounds like you have your hands full with the property. I hope all goes well.
I can not wait for my EE to lay. I want to see some eggs. Really any eggs at this point. None of my chickens are laying yet and I bought them in March. I dont know what I am doing wrong lol.
tomorrow starts my LPN schooling. Pray for me, or think about me SCG, tonight. I know I will do great but it is still nerve racking. Being a Mom, Wife, house keeper, and full time student is going to be difficult.
Mom is doing good lately, the visit really brought her spirits up, as soon as I get a new mouse for my computer I will be sharing many many pictures.
Now I must go feed the baby mocking bird that my son decided to save on the way home.
yes it is nursing. i want to show them that just because i was a teen mom does not mean that i have to be a statistic.
Very nice!! I cant hardly wait till my birds start laying.
The Chicken Mission
I have had quite a few PMs expressing interest in a "Chicken Mission" since I bought it up as another crazy idea in my thread so I thought I would repost it here.
So when would this happen?
The cheapest times of the year are actually the best times. These are the non-off peak times in both countries.
They also are cooler times which is always good.
My thoughts would be March 2014 but October also works.
So picking a random week in March and I did a search on Kayak.com.
Airfares out of LAX are so cheap – A one-stop flight on an Asian carrier is $821.00. Philippine Airlines is never below $1237. At $821, it will probably be cheaper to fly into LAX and then meet up and travel together rather than trying to fly from all parts unknown and meeting in Manila. Advanced purchase flights to our Island are less than $60 round trip.

I would set it up as a Lions club project, which I am a paid member of in the Philippines. As The Lions Club Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit charitable foundation, you can donate both time and tangibles to it with potential tax deductions (please talk to your tax adviser - not me)
There would need to be 6 - 10 interested people. Less than 6 would increase the cost of ground transportation but still doable.

Ron, why do you keep telling people that?

Today, I had an opportunity to spend some time with my DS#3. We were talking about lots of things and at one point we were talking about a new logo for my poultry endeavors. I said I would like to get t-shirts with the logo printed big on the back and maybe golf shirts with the logo small on the pocket area for shows. He suggested we could sell some of our shirts if people wanted them. I said 'sure' since I like to encourage entrapenureism in my children. He liked my idea, but had an idea of his own. He suggested that we make t-shirts with ... "Chicken Dynasty - Our hens are Happy, Happy, Happy!" The pic would be our chickens with beards. I thought it was funny. Can you guess his favorite show?
I don't know why Ron needs to keep reminding us of your job, Wisher - you do it so well on your own.I'm sure what you meant was "entrepreneurism," but the psychology of the word you created still has me giggling. I know we often refer to ourselves as being addicted to chickens, but there are limits to how far some of us enablers will go!![]()
