The generators are rated in Watts. You multiply the voltage times the current to get watts. So, if you want to know how many watts is required for your well pump. Look at the circuit breaker for the rating. Well pumps are 220 Volts. You will see 2 breakers linked together for 220 circuits. If the breakers are 30 Amps multiply 220 X 30 =6,600 Watts. So you would need a 7,000 watt generator to run the well pump. A circuit like a freezer is usually 15 Amps it could be 20. Multiply 15 amps X 110 volts = 1,650 watts your large appliances will take 1,650 watts each. You can manage the load by manually tripping and resetting the breakers or you can add the watts together for the total watts required.
